Wits’ End Parents’ Mastermind
This mastermind group is for you if you have worked with Rebecah, are working with Rebecah, or you’ve attended her Spirited Child class. Come meet other like-minded parents who “get” spirited kids – and get what it is to parent them! A mastermind gives you the chance to get other parents' perspective on any parenting challenges you’re facing, and share your ideas with them. These conversations will support, inspire, and motivate you!
Logistics: Saturday, May 13, 1:00-2:00, Berkeley Public Library (2090 Kittredge Sreet, Berkeley)
From Opposition to Cooperation
Wouldn’t it be awesome if your kid put his stuff away the first time you asked… got ready for bed at – not after – bedtime… responded to you without arguing, whining, or giving you “tone”… And wouldn’t it be awesome if your kid did all these things because she takes pride in contributing to your family? Strong-willed kids are really good at cooperation. And when you get your child’s buy-in for cooperation and “listening,” you have much less stress and conflict and it feels a lot more like you’re on each other’s side. This workshop shows you the way!
Logistics: Tuesday, May 16, 6:00-7:30, San Francisco Public Library, Stong Room (100 Larkin Street, San Francisco)
Teach Your Kids to Have Money!
Studies show that people who are financially literate have way more money than those who are not. But kids aren’t taught financial literacy in school. How do you teach your kids to manage and save money? How can you teach them to think critically and make good money choices? Come to this workshop to find out! This workshop is for you if you have a kid aged 3 and older. Yes, even kids as young as 3 can understand how money works!
Logistics: Thursday, May 25, 6:00-8:00, El Sobrante Public Library (4191 Appian Way, El Sobrante)
Wits' End Social Skills Groups
Kids have incredible capacity for responsibility, empathy, and leadership. And kids who lack self-confidence or find it difficult in social circumstances can develop social mastery! In our social skills groups your kids will learn to manage social frustration; learn a shared language of negotiation and cooperation; gain confidence in their ability to get what they need in social contexts; and improve their relationships with their friends and peers. Throughout each session Rebecah be working closely with the kids, making observations, coaching them, encouraging them, and encouraging them to help each other in moments of frustration or conflict.
Logistics: Tuesdays, 3:00-4:30, George Florence Park (10th Street, Berkeley, near Black Pine Circle School). Start date to be determined!
